We are in the midst of unprecedented circumstances with COVID-19. As countries around the world take efforts to curb the global COVID-19 pandemic, we want you to know that Langell Photography understands the concerns and uncertainty currently faced by all our friends, from our valued participants to our talented instructors, partners, operators, and the people in local communities that rely upon tourism by groups like ours for their livelihoods.
The quality of your overall experience, including your safety and security, have and always will be our top priority. We want you to know that the Langell Photography is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and is paying attention to information and guidelines from the WHO, the CDC, the scientific community, and health authorities around the globe. We are committed to doing our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19. It is our hope that there will be a decline in new cases. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this crisis.
On-location workshops and expeditions with start dates through minimally February 2021 (unless specified otherwise) have been postponed because of travel restrictions or unsafe conditions related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Workshops with start dates of February 1, 2021 or later are still scheduled as planned. We will monitor how the COVID-19 situation evolves in the coming months and we will adapt our schedule as necessary.
We will contact registrants for any upcoming workshop if it becomes clear that a given workshop or expedition will be affected. To the extent possible, we will reschedule affected programs to a later date so that you can still experience the destinations you wanted to visit. Each individual workshop will be treated on a case-by-case basis. We cannot guarantee that the new set of dates for postponed workshops and tours will fit within your schedule. We will make every reasonable attempt to provide you with options that work, but again, this is why we strongly recommend travel insurance that includes a cancel-for-any-reason policy for any workshop, tour, or travel plans you make to attend an event.
Langell Photography has a firm no-refund policy for all events, remote/virtual or in-person. Hence the strong emphasis on obtaining travel insurance with a cancel-for-any-reason policy. While we are in the midst of an unprecedented situation that continues to change month to month, with the full extent of its impact is still unknown, Langell Photography is unable to modify its general cancellation and refund policies, regardless of your specific circumstances.
This is not done to be harsh. Rather, significant financial investments are made a year or more in advance to secure lodging, locations, resources, staffing, tour services, guides, and more. When you book through me, I direct your deposits and most of those initial funds to secure the resources we need from the vendors who provide us with the facilities and services we use during the event. If I cancel, those funds I direct are not refundable per most agreements between the vendors and Langell Photography. Most of the tour industry operates in a similar fashion. This is why travel insurance is so important.
Your event may need to be rescheduled due to travel restrictions, safety concerns for participants and/or leaders, or other factors. Again, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with a cancel-for-any-reason policy to help secure your investment.
We are grateful for your patience, understanding, and support as we adapt to this ever-changing situation. It is our hope that we will all emerge from this stronger and more focused than ever on our friendship and shared passion to engage with our world and capture its beauty through photography.
We will continue to provide updates on our website as the situation evolves. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to review resources available through the WHO and CDC to learn more about COVID-19 and steps you can take to protect yourself and flatten the curve.
